Esther Milyutina

Early Childhood Director & Kindergarten Teacher

Esther Milyutina, who teaches kindergarten and kindergarten junior at Shaloh House, also directs the school's early childhood program. She holds a degree in Preschool Teaching and Musical Instruction from the Jewish Pedagogical College in Ukraine. In addition, she studied Hebrew and Traditions at OROT, a teachers' college in Israel, for two summers.

Esther has taught Jewish tradition and Hebrew to children in kindergarten through 10th grade at the Chernigov Jewish Day School, and she has also directed summer and Passover camps. She has taught several different grades at Shaloh House, from preschool to 5th grade, beginning in 2003.

Esther works to give her students all the tools they need to be successful and independent learners. She helps them develop pre-reading skills along with a basic understanding of mathematics. What she finds most fascinating is that even from birth, children bring their own personalities and interests and can make choices based on what they prefer.
